Confederate Military
Veterans Association
There are millions of men and women, who
have served in the Armed Forces of the
Yankee Empire. Several organizations render honors to those having served,
however there is no honors whatsoever payed to those veterans who are Confederates.
There are some truths which are self-evident, among these is the
principle that in the political arena, there is power in numbers.
When military veterans speak on any issue and with one voice, they gain
the undivided attention of those who walk the halls
of power.
It has been well known for sometime,
that a minimum of 40 percent plus, out
of the total membership of the Armed Forces of those
people, are Southerners.
However, this figure is only a estimate, and the numbers are likely much
higher. Since Southerners are
more prone to join the military, then anyother group.
Additionally, the afore-mentioned figures do not take into consideration
those whose home of residence is outside the Southland, but who are Southerners,
as well as those who would be considered Southern sympathizers.
When considering the varying views, the Confederate
States Nationalist, combined with the history, heritage and culture only
believers. Southerners would easily
constitute a majority among the military, including (active,
reserve, national guard and retired); particularly among discharged military
veterans. If such numbers of military
veterans were to be organized into a Confederate
Military Veterans Association, it would constitute the largest and strongest
activist group in the political arena.
The growth in any single sector of the Confederate
Movement, would spawn growth in all of our organizations and in the movement
at large. We have learned
from history, that a vast majority of our leaders during the pre-war and war
period of the War for Southern
Independence, were military veterans. A
roll call would find only a few who had no military service experience.
This would also be true today, as it was in former times!
Prudence indicates we would be wise to consider our Confederate
Military Veterans, the most valuable source of support of the modern era.
Let it be put another way; if it were
possible to reconstitute the Confederate
States Armed Force, strictly from the rosters of those who are or have
served in the Armed Forces of those people.
We would have the mightest Armed
Forces on earth! Let
another example indicate how many Southerners
are members of their Armed Forces. The City of New York,
has a population large enough, they alone could fill the rolls of every branch
of the Armed Forces, approximately three times over. Yet they contribute by percentage of their population, the
fewest in numbers.
The Sons
of Confederate Veterans and the United
Daughters of the Confederacy, of which many of us are members, are very
honorable organizations indeed! However,
their members are not entitled, strictly by their Confederate descendency, to
wear the title veteran. The key
words in their respective titles are; Sons or Daughters!
Still there is no doubt, as honorable as these historic organization are,
it is the same as if one of us were a Son or
Daughter of Robert E. Lee.
Which would not of itself endow any of us with the stature, commanding
presence nor the accolades to which General Lee alone is entitled.
We have today living sons and daughters of famous Generals, yet their
status can never enshrine them with the accomplishements, nor the fame of their
famous fathers.
We have the numbers, skills and talents,
which would make it possible to muster and organize a political power block of considerable strength.
If we were to have the will power to actually organize a Confederate Military Veterans Association.
We would then actuaually be able to dictate
terms in the political and cultural arena.
Should we choose to do so of course!
Isn't it high time we modern day Confederates, begin to live up to the
noble standards of our forefathers and
foremothers. Thereby
accomplishing great and honorable things on our own, just as they did in their
own time.
Whereupon
the day might come, when we can build monuments to a new generation of great
and noble Confederate heroes. The
issue above all else looms the question; Will those who are able to organize our
Confederate Military Veterans Association,
step forward? Future generations yet unborn, await our collective
decision. Let everyone be assured,
future history has never been a fixed condition, but unfolds according to cause
and effect. Should we change one
single cause, we would thereby alter
the outcome in our favor.

Save the Confederacy
